I must admit that I was totally not expecting the weight of this mat. I am sure the "density' is what makes it such a great mat and that is what I was looking for. I also bought a denim bag to carry it and love that as well, although it too is heavier (and far more functional) than what I carried my current bag in.
That being said, I walk a mile to and from my Yoga class twice a week and am rethinking the carrying of this as taking the place of my weight vest that I often wear for neighborhood walks.
You came highly recommended by my niece and I love having to use only one mat! Prior to this my mat was so thin and uncomfortable I added on top of one of the studio mats.
